Iriga City Water District has new GM

Outgoing Iriga City Kagawad Romulo ’Loboy’ M. Corporal, Jr. assumed the position as General Manager of the Iriga City Water District (ICWD) effective June 15 and brings with him a vast experience in management as well as effective public relations skills. He was, for three terms,  a very active member of the Sangguniang Panlungsod and has been the author of various city resolutions and ordinances that contributed to the very visible progress of the city. His appointment was met by the staff with positive responses, Corporal, widely known for his charisma as a legislator is a  very civic minded person. He is the  Council Chairman of the local Boy Scouts of the Philippines and a member of the Kiwanis Club of Iriga.

The new GM plans to continue the existing programs of the water district that have been proven very acceptable to the consumers. But he hopes to prod more actions done on illegal water connections and continues the LUWA funded  existing pipeline rehabilitation program.. He looks forward to a full computerization of the district  and an  on line payment to ease the burden of consumers who come to the office and sometimes have to queue for a long time just to pay their bills. Already,  senior citizen assistance is in force. He also talks of a pending buyout of a DBP loan which the water district is paying until now.

The Iriga City Water District which services practically all the barangays in the city except some far flung places which have their own water supply maintains the cleanest and most potable water in the Rinconada area. The  water undergoes regular weekly chlorine testing and a regular monthy bacteriology testing giving the consumer an assurance of a safe and potable  drinking water.

Think about this: the water that  the people in the metropolis drink,we use it in Iriga  to clean our toilets, wash our laundry and water our plants.
