PILI, CAMSUR – Senior citizens in Camarines Sur are set to receive more assistance from the provincial government as Vice Gov. Fortunato “Ato” C. Peña launched a campaign for the delivery of basic services to the elderly community to further intensify Gov. LRay Villafuerte’s programs for the sector.
As the inducting officer during the oath taking of the new set of officers for the Provincial Federation of Senior Citizens Association of Camarines Sur (PFSCACS), Inc. held at the Eco-Village at the Provincial Capitol Complex here on Aug. 9, Peña disclosed new programs under his leadership which undertake to provide more government assistance for senior citizens.
“We are setting up dedicated telephone lines with which to address concerns of the senior citizens. And we are presently incorporating a senior citizens’ section in our website to provide easier access to our frontline services for the senior citizens,” Pena said.
The vice governor created the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Advisory Council with a committee directly responsible for the implementation of programs and projects for senior citizens, along with other committees.
Newly elected PFSCACS President Jesus V. Taumotorgo expressed his gratitude on the staunch support that the federation maintains from Gov. LRay Villafuerte’s leadership, and is even more optimistic on the success of their programs and projects with the vice governor’s advocacy of promoting Christian innovative leadership.
Governor Villaferte has always maintained a close partnership with the federation with the welfare of the senior citizens as among the top priorities of his leadership, which serve as a major vehicle towards the promotion of a strong and productive constituency in Camarines Sur.
The induction ceremony was attended by some 40 officers from the federation’s local chapters in the municipal level. – Duds Andujar
