Buhi St. Joseph Academy holds campus journalism lecture

Over fifty high school students of Buhi St. Joseph Academy, Inc. in Buhi, Cam. Sur  attended August 23, 2010, a day-lecture and workshop  on Campus Journalism.

Free-lance journalist and a columnist of this paper, Bikol Reporter, Ms. Jokee Botor-Reyes was the resource speaker. She lectured on News, Feature and Editorial Writing. She was introduced by Ms. Angelli Y. Pado, the faculty adviser of the school’s Informatics Guild.

The Writing Workshop and Critiquing was facilitated by  Mr. Rommel Velasco, an English faculty member with Mrs. Amy Zaballa, the adviser of the school paper and  Mr. Leo Besenio, academic coordinator. Mrs. ‘Nitz” L. Sta. Rosa, made possible the successful lecture-workshop.

An offshoot of the event was the organization of a Writing Club with all those who attended the lecture signifying their  membership in the newly formed club.
