Phil Ad Congress slated in CamSur

CamSur will be  the official venue of the 22nd Philippine Ad Congress slated on Nov. 16 to 19, 2011.

This is the good news in connection with the province bid through the staunch efforts of Gov. LRay Villafuerte in pushing CamSur to be the venue of the congress, which is held every two years.

The cities of Cebu and Baguio were among its stiff rivals from more than 20 LGUs  which submitted their bids.

Speaking before the leaders of the Advertising Board of the Philippines that supervises the Ad Congress, Villafuerte said that CamSur is accessible both by land and air transportation whereas Cebu is accessible only by air  while Baguio is accessible only by land transportation.

Villafuerte assured the organizers of full local government support as they would have to deal solely with him in any matter concerning the congress in CamSur. Moreover, the climate in CamSur during the month of November is relatively cool as  Baguio and cooler than  Cebu, the governor added.

But a standout among novel features and innovations in the conduct of the Ad Congress is the use of the electronic on-line registration for the participants similar to that used during the IronMan 70.3 Philippines held here in CamSur.

The innovation is anticipated to rid the booking of palakasan (influence) method and instead facilitate a first-come, first served registration. Moreover, this would guarantee participants of availing the best rates and even discounts as promised by hotel owners.

Nonetheless, the organizers full trust in Villafuerte’s  capability to make the occasion a total success in view of his proven track record in bringing innovations and developments to the province, which jibes well with this year’s congress theme “The Game-changing Generation”.

The CamSur governor has committed to introduce more improvements to the venue, particularly at the convention center, Provincial Capitol and even at CWC in preparation for the ad congress. –FERNANDEZ
