In line with the declaration of February as National Arts Month through Presidential Decree No. 683, the Daet local government marked the Arts Month with Sining Galing Year 2 last Feb. 4, 2011, 8:00 a.m. at the Casa Illustrados of the Daet Heritage Center to showcase the skills of elementary and secondary students in a talent competition.
Various schools in elementary and secondary levels participated in the arts event after an opening program led by Daet Mayor Tito S. Sarion with the Municipal Tourism, Culture and Arts Division as the frontline office.
Coinciding with the celebration of the Arts Month is the launching of Visit Daet 2012 with the presence of the guest speaker, a Venezuelan artist namely Ms. Katiushka Borges.
The Visit Daet 2012 is a celebration of Daeteños unique trait that makes them stand out from all the men and women in the rest of the world. This event primarily aims to honor the commitment and perseverance of natives of Daet living and working abroad whom, inspite of difficulties in the foreign land have been contributors in the development of Daet and have carried the flag of Daet with pride and honor.

“May Visit Daet 2012, a program under Daet on the Go, serves as a vehicle in the promotion of culture and arts in the municipality as well as encourage the Daeteños who are in other parts of the country as well as those in the overseas to come and visit our place and experience a homely atmosphere after years of hard work in other land…” Sarion said.
